Do you love to smooch your pooch, but can’t stand his or her stinky breath?
When a dog’s breath is rancid, it means their mouth is unhealthy from a buildup of bacteria in the mouth, lungs, and gut.
Here are some simple, natural ways to get rid of your dog’s stinky breath.
1. Coconut Oil
You probably have a jar of this magical oil in your home already, which is great because it’s highly beneficial for dogs, too.
Coconut oil contains antibacterial and antifungal properties, which help in reducing the stinky smell from your dog’s mouth. It is also good for their digestive and immune system, and is packed with omega-6 for a shinier, healthier coat.
Take 1 tsp of coconut oil and mix it into your dog’s food or use it to brush your dog’s teeth!
2. Oral Hygiene Solution
Why does your pet’s breath stink? One of the leading causes of bad breath is a buildup of plaque, tartar, and bacteria.
Get rid of it with a simple oral hygiene solution! Our favourite is Slurp’n Fresh, because it’s made of natural plant extracts, not chemicals.
The great thing about this solution, is that it’s so easy to use. Just add it to your pet’s water and in no time, their bad breath will be gone.
3. Teeth brushing
Humans aren’t the only ones who need their teeth brushed to maintain a healthy mouth and avoid bad breath.
It may seem daunting at first, but one of the best ways to get your dog used to teeth brushing is by introducing him or her to the taste of their natural toothpaste. Once your dog is comfortable, gently brush with a finger toothbrush, and be careful around the gums!
